Why don’t you accept insurance?

I've chosen to operate as a private-pay practice to prioritize your privacy, autonomy, and the quality of our therapeutic relationship. When working with insurance companies, there are often limitations placed on treatment, including requirements for diagnoses that become part of your permanent record, restrictions on session length and frequency, and potential audits of your confidential information. By opting for a private-pay model, I can offer you a higher level of confidentiality, tailor our sessions to your specific needs without external constraints, and ensure the focus remains solely on your healing and growth. I can also maintain a reasonable number of clients so that I can provide the attentive and personalized service you deserve. While this does mean payment is your direct responsibility, many clients find that the enhanced privacy, flexibility, and personalized care are worth the investment.

Do you provide superbills?

Yes. I provide monthly superbills to clients who have out-of-network benefits. Reimbursement from your insurance carrier will be dependent on your particular plan.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

Therapy is for anyone seeking to improve their life, whether you're dealing with significant challenges or simply want to better understand yourself. If you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or are struggling to cope, it's a valuable space to gain clarity and learn new skills.

What happens in the free consultation?

In our free 20-minute consultation, we’ll talk about what brings you to therapy and what support you’re hoping to get. It’s also a chance for me to explain my approach and for us to see if working together may be a good fit.

What can I expect from the first session?

In our first session, we’ll begin exploring more deeply what brings you in and what goals you have, while also giving you more of a sense of my approach. This time is still part of the process of seeing whether we’re a good fit to work together.

How long does therapy take?

The length of therapy is highly individual and depends on your specific goals and the nature of your concerns. Some people find what they need in a few sessions, while others benefit from longer-term support.

What if I don't know what to talk about?

It's common to feel this way, and you don't need to have a specific agenda. I will guide the conversation and ask questions to help you explore what's on your mind.

How will I know if you're the right therapist for me?

The best way to know is to trust your instincts and see how you feel after the first session. A good fit feels like a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel heard and understood.
